Specialty Bokken - White Oak and Maple

Custom handmade Bokken using White Oak and Maple.
This Bokken is made with a wood bending process to produce a strong weapon and a clean look. It started as a block of White Oak wood approx. 42" x 3" x 1-1/4" and was sliced into six 1/4" thick strips that were 1-1/4" wide and 42" long. These strips are then glued and clamped to a form, to produce and hold it's curve. Two thin strips of Maple were added to create a feature design
Two thin strips of Maple were laminated to sides for another feature design and the shaping process began.

The White Oak is a good weight compared with other woods. Coming in at 540 grams, it is an idea Bokken for those who would like a uniquely designed weapon.
