Pat Hendricks Sensei at the Assiniboine Park (Formal Gardens) in Winnipeg - August 8 & 9, 2009

Two excellent days of weapons in the park. The flowers were awesome (and the mosquitoes were not that bad).

The Saturday evening challenge at the Pony Corral…

Four teams competed to build the tallest free standing tower using only straw and tape.

This is team 2 with: Pat Sensei; Debbie; Leanne; Hugh; Toby and Olga - they didn’t win ;-).

The Saturday evening challenge at the Pony Corral…

Everyone’s watching Sensei’s form as she stands on the table to build the tower.

The Friday evening party at Doug Sensei’s house to get ready for the seminar.

It’s traditional to drink and eat lots the night before the seminar to loosen up… we did a good job (the beer of choice is called Half Pints, brewed in Winnipeg).

“Are you ready to train,” asks Chris… “Not yet, need to drink lots more and play darts,” responds Jason.

We taught Pat Sensei how to play darts; she says that it’s nothing like Shuriken.

Hugh, Pat Sensei, Meir and Sergey cutting a mean rug

It was either Hugh’s dance form or Meir’s white disco pants and shoes that became the most talked about issue during the weekend.
